Allen-Bradley 1771-DCM
The Allen-Bradley 1771-DCM is a Direct Communications Module designed to facilitate direct data exchange between supervisory and local processors using a serial interface. Supporting the Remote I/O (RIO) protocol, it handles discrete data transfers of up to 7 words plus 1 status word and block transfers of up to 66 words plus 1 status word. The module operates at baud rates of 57.6 Kbaud for cable lengths up to 10,000 feet and 115.2 Kbaud for lengths up to 5,000 feet. It draws 1.2 Amperes from the backplane and integrates into the Allen-Bradley PLC-5 system.
