Allen-Bradley 1785-BEM
The Allen-Bradley 1785-BEM is a discontinued Backup Communications Expansion Module designed for use with the PLC-5 series of programmable logic controllers. It provides redundancy support for critical communication paths in automation systems, enhancing system reliability. The module installs in the 1771 I/O chassis and operates at 5 Volts DC with a current draw of 0.6 Amps. Although no longer manufactured, the 1785-BEM remains important for maintaining legacy PLC-5 infrastructure where backup communication is essential.
